Qualifying for the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am went four extra holes today before the final ten golfers earned their place in the years second major championship. Twenty-two professionals competed for ten spots at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul. After 18 holes, seven players secured tee times in the event that will be held June 11-13. As the head golf professional at Southview Country Club, Phil Anderson works incredibly hard to make sure each Tapemark Charity Pro-Am is a huge success. But that dedication doesn’t end when the tournament finishes. This winter Anderson continued a tradition he began the minute he got his head pro job.
At the close of the golf season, Anderson takes all his remaining clothing stock from his pro shop and donates it to Arc’s Value Village. In 2009, that donation amounted to $6,170 of brand new golf apparel. In the last two …

On Sunday, the 2009 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am was coming down to its last few holes at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul, and a playoff between Jeff Sorenson and Adam Wynia seemed imminent. They had traded the lead several times all day, and came into their final two holes tied at 15-under par. But Sorenson (Columbia GC) birdied his last hole and Wynia (Prairie Green, SD), following in the next group, was only able to make par, and with that Sorenson won the championship, his first Klas-Cody Trophy, and …
